Alajuela, August 29, 2024. With an investment of USD 10 million, the U.S.-based multinational
Resonetics, which specializes in the development of key components for medical devices,
inaugurated its second manufacturing plant in Costa Rica today, located in the Coyol Free
Zone, Alajuela.
This expansion aims to strengthen the company’s manufacturing and technological
development capabilities in the country. The new 54.000 square feet building, which also
includes new offices and advanced production areas, will complement the existing facilities
within the same industrial park.
“Resonetics is thrilled to be expanding our presence in Costa Rica. Since our initial investment
in 2016 with just 16 employees, our Costa Rica site has grown to be our largest, with more than
550 team members, and has been instrumental in our success serving our medical customers
globally. Costa Rica’s thriving medical device ecosystem, highly skilled workforce, and strong
government/industry collaboration have made this a location of choice to support Resonetics
continued strong global growth,” stated Dave Mitchell, SVP Operations, Resonetics.
In addition to the US$10 million investment made in the construction of this new plant,
Resonetics plans to invest over US$15 million more in the next three years. This significant
investment will not only drive the company’s growth but will also create 300 additional jobs.
