San José, April 00, 2025. As part of its global expansion strategy, ProMed Molded Products a leader in medical-grade silicone molding and contract manufacturing, has announced its establishment in Costa Rica with the construction of a new manufacturing facility in the Costa Rica Green Valley Business and Technology Park, located in Grecia.

The state-of-the-art facility will specialize in advanced manufacturing processes such as silicone and thermoplastic over-molding, insert molding, etching or priming, and value-added hand assembly. This expansion not only strengthens ProMed’s global production capabilities but also reinforces its dedication to supporting the medical device industry with precision-engineered silicone solutions.

ProMed President Clint Schneider shares, “This new facility represents a major step forward in ProMed’s mission to advance medical device manufacturing. Costa Rica provides a strategic location with a highly skilled workforce, and we are excited to bring new job opportunities while enhancing our ability to serve customers worldwide. Co-location is very important for many of our customers, including those in and around Costa Rica. Having a ProMed facility just a short drive from them will be very beneficial”.

Manuel Tovar, Minister of Foreign Trade, stated:

“The decision by ProMed Molded Products to establish operations in Grecia reflects the advanced manufacturing sector’s confidence in Costa Rica’s capabilities as a destination for strategic investment. This project is a clear example of how foreign direct investment can extend its benefits beyond the Greater Metropolitan Area, promoting quality job creation, technology transfer, and productive sophistication in the regions. At the Ministry of Foreign Trade, we remain committed to strengthening the country’s competitiveness, facilitating the establishment of new operations, and enhancing territorial economic development”.

Laura López, CEO of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), emphasized:

“The decision by companies like ProMed to establish operations outside our main cities strengthens our commitment to promote foreign direct investment across all regions of Costa Rica. ProMed’s arrival in Grecia will foster the creation of quality jobs, reinforce the advanced manufacturing ecosystem in the region, promote specialization of the local workforce, and boost the national economy. The 23% increase in the number of announced projects outside the Greater Metropolitan Area in 2024 compared to 2023 demonstrates the strong potential of our regions to host strategic and competitive operations”.

Roberto Argüello, Project Director at Portafolio Inmobiliario, added:

“The arrival of Promed to Costa Rica Green Valley marks a milestone in the continued growth of the business ecosystem in the Western region. This investment reaffirms the region’s potential and its capacity to attract leading companies in innovation and manufacturing. At Portafolio Inmobiliario, we are proud to mention that Promed’s construction process obtained the Blue Flag Certification (BAE) in the Construction category, reflecting our commitment to sustainable development and its alignment with our dual-materiality strategy. We believe in transforming spaces that drive economic and social progress, providing an ideal platform for companies like Promed to thrive and create productive linkages that add value to the region”.

ProMed’s investment in Costa Rica aligns with the country’s growing reputation as a hub for medical device manufacturing, driven by a strong ecosystem of skilled talent and robust infrastructure.

With this new facility, ProMed will generate new jobs in Costa Rica’s Western region by the end of 2025. Initial hiring will focus on key positions including site leadership, supervisors, molding operators, quality inspectors, assembly operators, technicians, and production engineers.
