- The company, headquartered in the US will double its production capacity with 4,500 m² building
- Operation will create between 30 and 40 new specialized jobs in the manufacturing sector
Heredia, September 29, 2025. The U.S. firm Prent Corporation, a world leader in the development of customized packaging solutions, trays and thermoformed components for the medical industry, announced that it will build a new manufacturing plant in Heredia, with the aim of doubling its production capacity in the country.
Through the new and modern facility, which will begin operations in mid-2027, the company expects to create between 30 and 40 new jobs in specialized and operational positions. The process of hiring for these positions will start three or four months prior to the inauguration of the facility.

For more than ten years, Prent has solidified its presence in Costa Rica by incorporating its own technologies, including the design and in-house manufacture of its thermoforming machines. The new plant will incorporate the most advanced version of this equipment, as well as additional storage spaces and a Class 7 cleanroom.
The Minister of Foreign Trade, Manuel Tovar, expressed his satisfaction with “the construction of the new manufacturing plant of the U.S. firm Prent Corporation, which reaffirms Costa Rica’s ability to attract high-value investment. This announcement strengthens the country’s supplier ecosystem and contributes to the development of Costa Rican human talent”. He reiterated the Ministry of Foreign Trade’s support to continue creating competitive conditions that enhance foreign direct investment.

Prent’s new manufacturing plant in Costa Rica will be located in the Savia mixed-use project in Heredia and will have an area of 4,500 m2. Currently, the company operates in the Zeta Free Trade Zone, from where it has established itself as the company’s eighth greenfield investment globally.
