Clario: A leading provider of technology and solutions to the clinical trials industry opens new site in Costa Rica

Heredia, May 30, 2024. Clario, a U.S.-based biotechnologist organization dedicated to providing technology and solutions for the clinical trials industry, has announced the opening of its new office in Costa Rica. This expansion aims to strengthen its operations and create new job opportunities in the country.

This announcement was made by the company’s executives this afternoon during the inauguration ceremony, which was also attended by Crhistian Rucavado Leandro, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Industry, and Commerce (MEIC); Indiana Trejos, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade (COMEX); and members of the Investment Management team from the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER).

With the announcement of this new facility, located in Ultrapark 2, Heredia, the company plans to have 250 new employees in several areas by December of 2024. These positions include health science specialist, clinical project coordinators and managers, business directors, human resources professionals, data managers, and other high-demand profiles requiring advanced expertise.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Indiana Trejos, expressed her enthusiasm for Clario’s expansion in Costa Rica: “The inauguration of this advanced Clario facility is a resounding testament to Costa Rica’s attractiveness as a prime destination for high-tech and value-added investments. This new office will not only boost our economy, but will also strengthen our capabilities in clinical research and biotechnology, aligning perfectly with our vision of sustainable development and technological progress. With 11 facilities in six countries, Clario’s global team of science, technology, and operational experts has contributed to over 26,000 trials and secured 800 regulatory approvals for more than five million patients in 100 countries. Between 2019 and 2023 alone, the company achieved 60% of approvals from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Clario will reinforce the operation of the life sciences sector in the country, one of the most consolidated sectors, with exports specifically from the pharmaceutical chemical sector and precision and medical equipment exceeding USD 8.5 billion in 2023, according to data from PROCOMER.
