- The company will begin operations with 60 employees and expects to expand its workforce over the next two years
- Through its new plant, located in Alajuela, Rhythmlink will manufacture electrodes, sensors, and accessories for neurological studies
Alajuela, May 21, 2026. U.S.-based company Rhythmlink inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Costa Rica, which will focus on the design and production of devices for neurodiagnostics and neurological monitoring. The investment is part of the Graham Partners group and aims to expand the company’s production capacity to meet growing demand from its global client base.
With this new facility, located in The GreenPark, in Coyol, Alajuela, the company expects to create 60 new jobs during its first year of operation and reach up to 300 positions over the next two years. The roles include positions in engineering, specialized technical areas, manufacturing operations, and quality inspection.
David Venegas, Costa Rica Site Director, said that, “the opening of Rhythmlink Costa Rica represents an important achievement made possible through the collaboration between the private sector and Costa Rican public institutions, further strengthening the growth and development of the medical device industry in the country. We are proud to create new job opportunities for Costa Rican families and, above all, to contribute to patient care and diagnosis around the world through innovative neurodiagnostic solutions”.
The facility includes 3,100 square meters of production space and 1,500 square meters of office space. From this operation, the company will manufacture electrodes, sensors, and accessories used in procedures such as electroencephalograms (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and intraoperative monitoring.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Arianna Arce stated that “Rhythmlink exemplifies the type of investment Costa Rica seeks to attract in manufacturing: companies that entrust us with sophisticated processes, generate specialized employment, and integrate into a strategic export sector. The company’s decision to establish its first operation in Latin America in Costa Rica is the result of ongoing efforts to position the country as a reliable partner for the life sciences industry. We will continue working to ensure that more companies like Rhythmlink find the conditions needed to grow locally and compete globally”.
Laura López, CEO of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), noted that “Rhythmlink’s decision to establish operations in Costa Rica responds to the country’s strong conditions for medical device manufacturing, a sector that includes more than 100 companies and specialized suppliers, as well as the availability of Costa Rican talent with specialized technical capabilities. This sector has consolidated itself as one of the country’s main export drivers, with precision and medical equipment accounting for 45% of goods exports as of March 2026, exceeding US$2.4 billion. The processes associated with this type of device increase the level of sophistication of operations carried out in the country within this industry, reflecting the continued arrival of companies incorporating more complex processes”.
