This milestone represents the company\u2019s latest investment in the region, following the successful opening of its manufacturing facility in Cartago in October 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new R&amp;D Center of Excellence will initially focus on engineering support\u2014 a key function that ensures the safety, reliability and ongoing performance of the company\u2019s comprehensive portfolio of medical devices and software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This work, which includes lifecycle management and continuous improvement of existing product lines, is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and enabling the reliable global supply of life-saving medical technologies used daily by healthcare professionals and patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The center will also collaborate closely with Terumo BCT\u2019s global network of R&amp;D Centers of Excellence, including sites in Lakewood, Colorado (U.S.) and Thiruvananthapuram, India, as well as other Terumo Centers of Excellence already established in the region. These strong connections will provide Costa Rican associates with access to global collaboration, cross-training and technical engineering career paths in medical device engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe launch of our R&amp;D Center in Cartago reflects our commitment to strengthening the long-term performance of our technologies,\u201d said Luis Castro, Director of Terumo BCT Costa Rica\u2019s R&amp;D Center of Excellence. \u201cThis center will leverage Costa Rica\u2019s technical talent to ensure that healthcare professionals can rely on our devices and software every day.
